The bee-savers (Dutch)

Bees, they are essential for our food supply. But the bee dies out slowly all over the world. A potential disaster for our food production. In the Netherlands the tide is now turned. A unique rescue program run by hundreds of volunteers must save the honeybee worldwide from destruction. The researchers have created a super bee. After years of research, selection and searching for the right genes, they have developed a bee that can withstand its biggest opponent, the Varroa mite. The varroa mite is a parasite that makes the bee sick on a large scale and where up to now there was almost nothing to do. The aim of the operation is to breed the super bee on a large scale, by breeding and breeding. So that the super bee spreads like an oil spill all over Europe and the rest of the world.

Super bee versus assassin. On the other side of the world, the Dutchman Bart Jan Fernhout worked for years on a resistant bee. A promising answer to the massive bee mortality.
