That’s fantastic.

I am thinking skill patience and a bit of luck thrown in to get that thanks Keith

Great picture - it must have needed very quick shutter speed to get the wing so clear while in flight, I'm no photographer, do you have high quality camera?

From a professional Photographer: Well done. Patience pays off!

it is just a good digital camera on a bright sunny day.i sat beside the bramble bush that was been worked hard by bees and kept the camera focused in the one flower. thats the glory of digital is that you can take loads of photos and none of them are right, and then you get the right one.

I think I'll take my digital out with me in future and see if I can get anything, would be pleased with half as good! Now I need even more pockets in the bee suit ...

What no tripod? What about the lens?
I'm hopeless at photography, but I'd love to have a go at macro photography, but I have no idea what equipment to buy.

What a wonderful picture Keith.

I take it that it's a young field Apis mellifera millefera, going by the excellent detail showing her still hairy thorax.

Regards.

Apis mellifera millefera is what i select for
keith
had the pleasure of working with a nuc of bees you sold to a friend last year, beautiful bees 10 out of 10 for your selection process, please bring a queen for everyone in the audience next time you lecture to our association

Nice one Keith - no bramble in flower yet up here in the Northwest and we are sorely in need of a change in the weather - some stocks bordering on starvation.
