we often used to see loads of frogspawn in the flooded ruts in forestry tracks when out February hunting.

I see it on top of the beehives.
Our local buzzards pick up the frogs full of spawn and I guess some squeezes out as the birds takes off.

If I'd been picked up by an enormous bird of prey I'd probably squeeze some out too.

(Interpret "bird of prey" however you wish, there :D)

It lasts for a while wherever it is left, not least because it's not water soluble (obviously).
