Hi All

My bees seem to be thoroughly investigating a compost bag on my patio. Any ideas why? Could it be the red colour?

Thanks

as above, i potted up 75 small box trees the other week and the bees are coming and going all the time sucking the compost for water.

:iagree:

Yes it's the moisture, I had the same when I watered a load of plants outside the greenhouse, 2mins later covered in bees.

They are bothering a bag of potting compost in my garden too. They are taking water gathered in puddles on the plastic. I am sure this is because this water is warmer than the water in the pond. There may be some minerals in the water from the compost but it has been outside for a while so these should have been washed off by now I think.

Maybe they want to pot up their own flowers, clever things bees.
