Formic acid becomes harmfull to queens when day temp rises over 25C.
In 20C no queen losses happen.

That's interesting. I don't recall any mention of that in the instructions. Didn't have a problem myself, but found MAQS ineffectual to be honest.

MAQS instructions do plainly state the temperature limits.

However, as usual, they are external air temperatures.

Whereas what would matter to the Q and colony would be the temperature where they and the strips are - the temperature inside the hive, rather than outside.
The difference between inside and outside temperatures will vary with hive insulation (poly hive?), colony strength, etc.
The MAQS instructions are silent on those points.

However, to restate - MAQS is hardly the best choice for treating a newly-taken swarm (should you decide to treat).
 
Thanks for info. Itma. Won't be using it again after last disappointing results. Will stick to Oxalic Vapour.
