Coldest night of the year and about 9pm the lights go out. I flick the breakers and all seems ok.
When I go for my nightly soak I realise the heat pump is not reheating the tank so look at the HP control to see that there is an F15 error code on it. Tried to override it but it just crashes the breakers again!
F15 code means either the fan motor is gone or the PCB is F****d!
So the house has no heating all night.
At 8.30 this morning I ring the manufacturer who sends me a email on how to see if its the motor or PCB and ring the spares supplier re prices and delivery.
Motor £303 + vat 7-10 days delivery
PCB £594 + vat 7 days delivery
So I really need to find out which it is so the first test is to see if the fan spins- doesn’t seem to be when poking a stick through grill but need to make sure. Take the grill off to find a big icicle between fan and cowl!!!!!!!
Knocked it off, powered back up and alls well!
