quick question from newbie

Just caught a swarm (100 pct sure from my own hive) and placed in a poly nuc. Left the stragglers to join the rest but am I ok to leave the nuc in the out apiary which will be within 4/5 metres of the original hive? Going back in an hour to sort it out but not sure if I need to find a new location?

thanks assistance

Sounds okay to me, but someone else might think differently not worthy

I've hived a swarm into a hive sharing the same stand as the one they came from, no problems

:iagree:

I put a swarm from my hive right next to the original and they were fine. I believe that by swarming their internal 'map' is reset which causes them to orientate to the new hive, rather than drift back to the old one.
