Swarm takeover?

Afternoon,

Yesterday morning I had an empty hive and a second hive with a very small, dwindling brood (blue hive in pictures).

In between some heavy rain showers around 4pm a swarm arrived at the empty hive.

This morning it appears that both hives are now extremely active!

Does anyone have any idea whether it it possible for a swarm to arrive and take over a small colony (as this appears to be happening)?

There are some stores left in both so I will leave it a couple of days to see what happens.

Any help/advice greatly appreciated,

It now appears that an additional empty hive now has lots of activity from the new arrivals! Video at link below:
