I have just collected a swarm from a garden not far from the hive it can out off. I got it housed in a box and has been flying for a few hours. I am about to collect it as its getting dark.

One question will they have formed a homing instinct in the few hours after the swarm?

It would be a real pain if the went back!

I can't really move them miles away but could I lock them in for a day, would that help.

:iagree:Shouldn't be a problem.....we all do it.....no guarantees though!

Thanks for quick reply. Off to move them in a min.

Yeah I know they should be in swarming mode but just a little concerned.

I am sure I have had the buggers go back to capture site before.
