i have a national super with 12 frames on wide alternating spacers at the moment, at what point should i take out some of the frames and change to wide spacing?

also is there any tips fro getting the frames all drawn out the same thickness?

thanks again everyone..... honey soon :hurray::hurray::hurray:

For super foundation, I use 12 frames. Once extracted I then put them on 10-frame castellated spacers.

i dont have spacers in my supers because i am a cheap skate.

i only start with 10 standard sn1 frames and once they start the flow i can shut that down to 9 they bring the cell lengh out to suit as i have a dummy frame if needed this means i can get a better and bigger wax harvest to

Having dumped spacers many years ago as works of the devil esp the tin plate thingies.. I seem to remember there were 11 frames in a Nat sup.

As soon as they are drawn.

Keep them apart by the same distances. Ie space evenly.

yes i set mine by eye

i start with a full 11 frames, i prefere to use standard sni frames as when i harvest i slice down to the edge to the timber frames colleting more wax that way.

they normaly start in the middle and work outwards so as the frames start to be drawn out i loose the one frame but add a dummy frame each frame gets moved a few MM every time the trick is to also keep shuffling the frames every time you inspect to make sure they keep drawing them out.

if i get it right we only have 9 frames to extract, if i get it wrong we do 10
