Home made. Given its trial run today and works a charm.

I bought a stainless steel spaghetti ladle from QD - I think it was £1.46.

The ladle bit had holes in it already, with finger like projections round the edges. This I flattened in a vice - takes some doing to get it totally flat, but I did it.

Then I worked on the handle. Holding it vertically, I cut 2 slots horizontally, one either side, about 1/3 into width of handle and about an inch from the top end of handle. These flaps I then bent in on themselves, using a hammer and vice, which made a shank, which goes into the chuck of my 24 V cordless drill. Filed off the sharp bits from the sawing. A bit of bending in vice to ensure it is all symmetrical, so will not wobble when spun.

The ladle is long enough to reach the bottom of a 30lb honey bucket. Worked a treat on my warmed OSR honey

Who/What are QD?

Cheers

Sounds good - when do you go into production?

i understand you can also get cheap, fairly powerful battery powered "stirrers" fashioned from medical grade silicone these days - multi speed and variable oscillations to suit the type of honey and desired end result.

Ah- these must be similar to the "ahem" neck massagers advertised in Sunday newspapers supplements. Presumably needs to be the longer version to get to the bottom of the tank.

;)

no need to boast about the size of your crop.

DOI: 7.5lbs of OSR!!!
