Hello all

First winter is basically over... I hope! Question is does anyone treat for mites in the spring? I’m doing mite drop monitoring now just to see what’s going on in there and I treated at the end of the season. Just seeing what others do and recommend.

Thank you

Well depends what your drops are telling you as far as I am concerned the best spring treatment is taken care of in the winter with an oxalic treatment and it’s job done for the season until autumn.

I missed oxalic and subsequently discovered high mite drop so now treating with apivar strips as suitable for current temperature guess if your mite drop is low you dont need to worry. Mine wasn't. Also cannot place supers on with intention of getting honey while treating with apivar.
