I agree. We have a sock company here in Vermont, making socks of wool. Darn Tough sock company.
Wonderfully comfortable. Guaranteed for life. If they get a hole in them, the company replaces for free.

I have a lot of Smartwool merino stuff.
You can wear it for days without stinking. Not that I do any more but I have trekked for two weeks wearing the same layers and not smelled …… much 😉

Damn! Perhaps I should try that. There are days (such as today, when I have been shovelling compost for most of it) that even I don't want to get too close to me.
