Love that butterfly! - I haven't ever seen one here.
Sedums were one of the many sorts of plant I never used to rate or notice before I got interested in bees and other insects. They really are great plants to have in the garden at his time of year.

Ahh ... that's sub tropical Somerset for you ... I will be moving down to somewhere in that vicinity next year ... retirement looms ! Within a 15 mile radius from Frome is where we want to be...

We are nearer Taunton, on a hill in the wetlands.. We get our own lake in the winter! Mists over the sedge moors at the moment are amazing! The starlings start their murmuring soon. Heaven!

Lovely area ... very good that you are on a hill - we found our ideal place in the levels a month or two ago ... absolute bargain - until we looked at the flood maps !! No wonder it was cheap ... and still hadn't sold.

Not all the flood maps are accurate, many properties round here are above flood plains and never been flooded but they can't sell them! Others right in the flood plains sell easily at cheap prices, the forma are bargains if you can find one.

It is what we call sedum Michael. It is a sort of succulent type of plant with huge multi flower heads that the bees love.
