i have made a hive roof using a piece of kingspan and to help protect the edges i have fixed some strips of rigid plastic. There are a few small gaps that i want to fill in and was wondering that instead of using tape if it would be safe to use silicone sealant. In theory the bees shouldn't be able to get near it but that doesn't always stop them.

I have used it to seal holes in supers without any noticeable negative results

Lidls have it on offer real cheap at the moment ... clear and white.

Reminds me of a Limerick

There was a beekeeper from Devizes
Who bought sealant in two different sizes
One so small was hardly there at all
And the other so big it won prizes !

I always though limericks had 5 lines!?

like this?

Pollen is the protein to grow the baby bees;
It's gathered from all sorts of flowering plants and trees.
Some plants produce nectar which for the bees is fuel;
These are just a couple things
you may have missed in school.

This is better

The limerick packs laughs anatomical
Into space that is quite economical.
But the good ones I've seen
So seldom are clean
And the clean ones so seldom are comical

Get the white low modulus stuff as it will move with the wood
