I have over they years gathered up from bee keepers who have passed on several hundered sheets of wax, various sizes. What is the best way to deal with them, send them for exchange or melt them down, they may be to old for use

Unlikely they are too old. Foundation can be refreshed with a hair drier in less than twenty seconds. Worth a fair bit more as foundation than as trade in wax lump.

Agree they're worth more as foundation than as wax blocks. The hair dryer works a treat and a spray with syrup from a plant spray bottle as they go into a hive can also encourage bees onto them and start drawing them.

I have had wax over ten years old, probably nearer 15 in fact happily drawn by the bees with just a warm over with the Hair Drier. No bribery with syrup here...LOL
