Does anyone know where one can buy replacements zips for beesuits, please?
I have looked and looked and cannot find a detachable, white 94cm zip anywhere, to replace a broken zip that joins the hat'n'veil to the suit.
They have got to be out there........somewhere?
Broken zip is plastic and I think I put it through a too hot a wash cycle, oops!
Is it going to cost me a new suit or can I repair?
Thank you.

aaaaaawwwwwwwww, had me all excited then..................................... they don't have any:banghead:

Anymore suggestions greatfuly recieved:bigear:

I took mine to a local 'sewing shop' where 2 ladies run it and turned it around in a week. Have you one in your area, as they can get long zips.

Try the company that produced your Beesuit. Sh............... have replaced the mesh in one of my suit hoods recently at a very reasonable cost. They are also in the process of sending me a piece of material to patch a Beesuit that I snagged on a fence.
Excellent company, good quality kit, fast and efficient.

Have a look at a company called the zip yard. They done one of our spare suits last week. They have a website... www thezipyard.co.uk
Put a dot after the www
I am not associated with the company in any way :nature-smiley-016:

£20. Cheaper than a new suit.
It's one of our spares but looks like new now.

I find it extremely odd that on a bee keeping forum which boasts so many members, that there is a lack of information regarding the repair of bee keeping wear.
I live in a rural area and don't have a local 'sewing shop' up the road.
All I am asking for in a Country that likes to think it is the top of the business chain, (LOL) is a ZIP................ a zip........
We have the internet...................but no zip...............

let me know via pm what your after, weather you just want the zip, or if you want it fitted in the suit, I'll get a price of the mrs for ya, but expect it to cost around £7 each way on postage

Does Mrs Ratcatcher know she's about to be nominated as Forum Seamstress?

Who needs a zip?
Simply tuck the end of the veil into ones cravat (They come in all manner of colours that will suit any good quality tweed) and ensure that your pipe adequately charged!

Does anyone know what the main zip of a bee suit is called or what type it is? I need to order one is it open ended, double ended or what??

The one up the middle in the front ? Open end single (unless you have a weak bladder in which case a double ended twin might be a help - but you might need a velcro flap stitching over the lower end !).

If you can't get a closed end zip you can oversew the end of an open-ended one so it can't open.

Try Jaycotts dot co dot uk they do a vast assortment including zip on a roll...where as above you buy a long length and cut and oversew to the size you want...Or ask on Fleabay by email to seller - they often have things that are not listed...
