Removing honey from cappings

How do you remove honey from your cappings?
I have slowly melted down the cappings/honey in a big pan with the intention of removing the wax from on top when it has cooled and to use the honey for myself/cooking
any other ways??

Leave capping in strainer in a warm place to drain,turning them over a couple of times.

with hivemaker, I also cover mine to exclude anything getting in , eg dust etc
