Hi All

Just got a new red cedar hive, and nailed the metal runners to it this morning. Started sneezing and itching looked at my arms where the boxes had been resting as I was nailing, to my surprise I had blisters on my skin!

Anyone else experienced this?

Gary

Not witn Cedar but I wance had an alergic reaction to a timber called Agba made life dificoult during that job. No blisters but swalen eys and ichy skin so it can happen.

Not come across anything to be allergic to yet,but find it very interesting about the disorders some people have.
Some kind of genetic faults, or under exposure when young.

Hmm - interesting thought was at a neighbour's funeral yesterday died in his eightieth year and a market gardener/ florist all his life it came up in discussion that he reacted badly to certain cut flowers and after working with them his hands would be red raw - third generation nurseryman who, as soon as he was old enough was out working the glasshouses I don't think under exposure was a factor with him! :)

Happy to exchange your problem with my Th****s £150 hive if you want? :D

Cheers susbees, wow guess I must have it bad as this was my first contact. Hope the bees don't suffer too. Do bees sneeze?

Surely you've heard the expression, "It's the bee's sneeze?"
:D
