Queen cup size.

I read somewhere that 10mm is now the best size giving larger queens. This is up one mm from the 9 I have always used.

Does anyone know if it actually makes any difference apart from saving on sanding down 10mm dowel?

This is an interesting piece of work, I'd be interested in seeing if follow up studies are able to replicate the results. The increase in egg size post caging may also add another benefit to the standard practice of keeping breeders in smaller units.
