No . They have been fine all winter without it . As long as the hive is sealed up at the top they will be fine . No hole in crown board or match sticks for ventilation ect .
 
is anyone putting inspection board in to keep brood warm

No, because it doesn't make an ounce of difference as long as the hive is topped by a closed crown board and some insulation - which yours are. The bees will keep the brood warm, they've been doing it for a few million years, so no need to worry.

What might happen, if you leave an inspection board in for too long, is that it will be covered in a layer of hive debris that the bees won't be able to clean away because they can't get at it through the mesh.

it is also going to be the coldest part of the hive, so you get condensation on the board abnd the hive debris will turn into a mouldy mess
