I weigh my hives regularly through the winter and although I wouldn't go so far as to say they're getting heavier yet (there's quite a wide margin of error in the weights) they have stabilised and certainly aren't getting lighter any more.

I wish. I do have an old car so am used to scrabbling around under it. Hive is on a slab outside so grubbiest overalls a must.

There was certainly quite a bit of nectar in most of the hives I inspected today so they are finding it somewhere!

What is your yield forecast for this year?

I don't really have a forecast - I leave it up to the bees mostly. I got an average 34kg per hive last year, and I'd be really pleased with something like that again this year.
