Yes we had a guy give an amazing talk on this at the West Sussex BKA convention in 2018. The cases were very diverse and it completely captivated the audience!
 
I thought archaeologists had been using pollen for dating for quite some time now?

I studied geography at Plymouth Poly (now a uni) in the late 80's and one of the professors was working on ancient pollen's found in peat and glacial sediments in order to work out all sorts of things such as environmental conditions thousands of years ago.
 
Professor Wiltshire was interviewed by Jim Al-Khalili on the Life Scientific (Radio 4) the other week. It was a really interesting interview, and well worth a listen. It’s probably on the BBC Sounds app.
