Careful ,I laid a camouflaged jacket up in the attic for the Summer . I haven't been able to find it since!

Cheers Tdod,
It's just emulsion applied with a brush.

You make that sound easy but must of took a fair bit of time, I would like to have a go at a paint finish like that but would not know where to start, any tips?

Well I'm gifted at art anyway but it really isn't that hard. Obviously you need to allow coats to dry, this is the time consuming bit.
That nuc was originally a sage green colour that I overpainted with the blue and left a few areas. I have varying tones of brown, grey, cream etc, use the brush to blodge the paint on, use a dryish brush and you'll achieve a bit of fade out. Think about using the dark paint as you'd see shadows on a bright day or sunlight through branches and use it to break up the outline even further.
I've got some brood boxes on order so I could do one in stages if you like.

If you have the time to take some pics and share the process from start to finish I for one would be very interested.

Thankyou

The striped paint in B&Q is an under counter job and only mixed by the paint master, you will need to phone first to see if he's on duty and what colours you would like.

FABULOUS artistry Swarm! That will be a hard act to follow.

this is my first hive. I thought I would tart it up with a few cans of poundland spray paint and a few leaves as stencils. No experience necessary, a lot easier than you might think

Nice :)
I love the look of those MB hives newly painted.
I did mine in two colours and they've ended up mix and match so as they empty for "service" I will paint them all the same shade of chocolate.
I'm looking to see if I can make a Paynes box top bee space and If I can I'm Inspired to be a little more adventurous with that:)

be very careful using spray cans on poly, it can melt the polystyrene.... make sure you have a few layers of base coat first.....
