I see people on here that have out apiaries and also taking their hives to the heather. Do you need permission to take the hives out to the heather/fields or do you just put them out there out of sight from prying eyes. I've got a field 2 minutes from me and it would be ideal for a couple of extra hives next year, but I don't know who owns the land. I've found a perfect spot, so do people just bung their hives out for the season then bring back them back for winter or do they seek permission?

Yes you can just bung them where you like, no need to ask for permission from the landowner.:reddevil:

"........ however, moving them to a field a couple of minutes from where they are now (my assumption) means they'd be back home early from their holidays!

P.s. My hives might fit the bill though!

:yeahthat:Or ask around, in the local pub etc.

Us yokels tend to know who owns what and where, and can probably give you the phone no. of said person.

Over the years we have had various "issues" but IF we were asked in advance it's OK, if not then the s**t hits the impeller.

Tim.

beekeepers could put them on my land, they wouldn't get them back though, of course you have to ask permission, how would you feel if I put two hives in your back garden

:iagree:

But then we see more and more of this - just because it's a field and not attached to a house people just think they can help themselves.
