My bees are busy working nearby ivy which started flowering recently and bringing in bright yellow pollen. However a few hives are also bringing in some distinctly orange pollen - any ideas what this might be at this time of year

Hi, yes…. I treated myself to a little trip to thornes a few months ago to spend some birthday money. Think it was about a fiver. I particularly like it as it overlaps months….
I'm seeing a fair few dandelions in flower still.

Yes, I was at Kempton races a week ago and saw several flowers.

Although not seen any in my part of the midlands.

Mine are bringing in loads of orange pollen from asters.

Most of the ones I tasted around here were so horrible I suspect he may have used an alternative bodily secretion (or perhaps excretion?). They just didn't seem to get anywhere near ripe at all and many were tiny and hard as bullets.
