Hi everyone,

Just wondering does anyone in or around the County Armagh / Down area in Northern Ireland have an Omlet Beehaus not in use?

Thanks

I haven't heard of any in use by any members of Armagh & Monaghan BKA and I don't recollect that they have even come up in discussion further afield.

I am fairly sure no-one from the Warrenpont Rostrevor Bee Keepers association has one of these, certainly have never heard them discussed at a meeting or in private with any of our members. We have members across South Down, South Armagh and Newry.

I think people are trying to say that they are not as good and idea as the promotional videos would lead you to believe.

Shock!

Boring as it may seem, you could well be better off with a conventional hive. The various polystyrene nationals seem to be liked by the bees. (You can get them with 14x12 brood boxes if you want.) If you want wood, I like the cedar beginners kits.

There's always someone keen to buy the un-sellable on fleabay

There was one as the very first item at the Meon Valley BKA sale in May
made the grand total of TEN POUNDS
