Hi,

If you have an observation hive in your living room, (as I believe some people do), dont you get a room full of bees when you open the hive up?

Set fire to the house first, the smoke will ensure they keep their heads down.

Not a very clever place to have an observation hive anyway, too warm, but if you must, then you block the entry hole and take the hive outdoors to do whatever you need to do,or if you must open it indoors, then you will have to open the window to allow the bee's to exit.

There are good examples of people having them in the house, I think manipulations are done by disconnecting and taking the hive outdoors first.
