Nosema ceranae - the root of all our troubles

as they say, no such thing as bad publicity... but what newspaper ever let facts get in the way of a good story?
 
No doubt the purveyors of deadly arthropod toxins will jump on the bandwagon. Anything to attemt to divert attention from their non-specific, long lasting poisons, sprayed on our food crops and garden flower plants in the name of crop protection. Bayer and syngenta likely topping the list.
 
Nosema ceranea can cause a colony to fail.
It ruins queens and is a devil to get rid of.
Thymolated syrup works but in my colonies that had it the queens have become permanently damaged.
Apis spores are killed by the temp of the bees in summer which is why it is common in march and november but ceranea thrives in warmer temperatures and persists all year.
