No Stores in mky colonies?

Well, finally had a gap in the clouds to look at my bees - topped up the 1:1 syrup on my 2 week old shook swarm - a quick look inside saw brood in all stages so that's ok then.

Next took a look at two brood-and-a-half colonies. The first one had lots of bees and NO stores. Oops - on with the rapid feeder and 1:1 syrup without delay. The other was less critical with stores in the super although not capped.

And then it started raining again. Lots! Sunshine due on Tuesday so will take a closer look at the rest then...

Not far off my experience today - all hived nuclei on feed, all bar 2 of my double broods being fed now.

Oh- and I got the repeat rain as well. Bees distinctly not happy about my brief intrusion.
