Just post loads of trollop on your purple plastic bee box* and promote yourself as the forum expert, replying to every response... and you will be a queen bee in a couple of months!

* Or whatever system of beekeepering that will wind up the old fogies...

Yeghes da

When you successfully bring hives through the winter nice and strong your doing as well as anyone else.

Lol well said. gotta have bees to swarm tho and as long as you get through early spring ok your in with as good a chance as anyone. My experience is you never stop learning or making mistakes beginner or not. When you can do the simple stuff well your not a beginner anymore in my book. Although like all things beekeeping this is just my opinion.

How long will I be a new bee ?

What'd the ranking structure?

Some amusing replies but none seem to answer the OP question about the forum grading system which simplisticly has switching points based on number of posts the member has made. No degree of competence should be inferred by having a "higher ranking", just that the response may be from someone who has been active in the forum for some time. As to what the switching points are currently set, I had a quick glance at the sticky posts but didn't find it - over to you admin or do I need new spectacles?

Maybe helpful to Busibee, cutting and pasting the forum rules for the benefit of newbies or even some "experienced" members so here

Asking for advice

If you are new to the forum and just starting to ask advice could I offer a little help.

To get the most from other members you first need to go into your control panel and add your location as this will often help in members answers(There is sometimes a big difference in advice if you live in say Aberdeen or Truro.

Always give a good title:
"I have found queen cells on a frame what should I do ?"

Is far better than

"HELP !!!!"

Give all the information you can think of in your post, the more info you give the better the replies will be.

Sometimes you may find that replies may seem a little crass, most of the time no harm is intended as we except we all started at the begining in Beekeeping.

You will soon realise that the forum can be a little strong in its advice at times but If you can laugh it off you will soon fit in and be one of the team.

If you are offended by any posts or replies please dont hesitate to hit the "Report post" button as some of our members do need a pm or two sometimes to remind them to play nice.

To report a post just click the little notebook icon at the bottom of each post (Icon below):
Enjoy the forum and enjoy your beekeeping.

I still consider myself as a new bee, more knowledgeable than when I first started and consider myself to be a good beekeeper.
Doing all the modules will not make you a better beekeeper but I would consider you or any new beekeeper doing a practical course. you never stop learning and when you think you know it all something new will appear.
As for posting, ask as many questions as you like, the only daft question is one not asked. Your next problem is sifting through the responses you get but if you posts with :iagree: then probably that's the closest to the truth as you are likely to get
