maybe completely a failure what about putting a cone against the wall and a box on the end with feed in and drawn out foundation bees can still get in and out of box but not into wall might work
 
Better using the magic white powder as far as I'm concerned, kill them quickly.

I thought we as beekeeperes are not supposed to do this. I think this is probably the best idea, but I assumed I was not allowed ( not sure who would stop me/sue me/punish me though).
I think I could probably get quite a few bees out with a bee vac and then pump in ant powder and foam up the hole.
 
I thought there was a small queen right colony in the nuc?
If not then the trap out wont work.
 
Went to dismantle this today and the box was packed with dead bees and classic signs of starvation. There were loads of Q cells, so it would have worked had the bees survived. I did put some food in, but next time, I'll put in a lot more.

Plan B under way now using a beevac. 2 full boxes of bees so far. Hard work though standing on a ladder for hours on end.
