the queen cell in the hive that i chose has now hatched , so now the wait and hope for a few warm days so she can mate.......fingers crossed

Great news now the waiting game, there are a few periods of dry weather over the next few days for south wales so fingers crossed

dont open the hive for a few weeks so they have time to settle down if/when she gets mated.

And if she doesn't....a well established drone layer and messed up frames. A fortnight is enough....

Ha, this is like a Welsh only thread atm:rolleyes:

Fingers crossed for the weather, it's been pretty good here (compared to other parts of the country) so hopefully she'll get out to do the business:D

pretty grim here today (continuing the Welsh theme). i saw a virgin queen emerge during an inspection 2 days ago, so am keeping my fingers crossed for an improvement in the weather soon....

Yes - and the morning started so promising as well - managed to inspect most of my (rapidly) expanding apairy before the rain came.
Note to self: in future check apairy and bait hives before answering PM's !!
