Morning all, this is my first posting and I have a question. I’m thinking of moving to the Isle of Man and wanted to know if I could move my bees over, or are there any restrictions? Thanks

The BBKA have an association on the Isle OF Man and you can get the contact details through the BBKA website this will be your best place to get a definite answer.

They certainly were Varroa free and if so they will be VERY keen to stay that way so I would ask first before becoming extremely unpopular.

I think there may be a restriction on the number of legs on your bees
:biggrinjester:

Brill - you can enter them into the famous TT 3-legged race :D

According to manxbees dot co.uk there has been an import ban for 20 years. They claim to be relatively pure amm. And the status of an island that can make it's own rules sounds like a useful source of the type.

The forum post of IoM correspondant might be up for grabs when you get there.:)

yes there is a import ban on bees and bee equipment (second hand).new
equipment is ok,but nothing that bees have been in,even for a sort time.
we can ship bees over to the uk,but not the other way round.
if you do come over to the isle of man, please say hello.
