Just got my copy of "What's on TV".

The Midsomers murder on at 8 pm Sunday 21st March is called "the sting of death" . A body found covered in bees. Griff Rhys Jones plays a pompous beekeeper (plenty of those about some of you might reply!) The honey they sell is supposed to have extraordinary healing powers ! (Haven't we heard that before!).

The trailer has been on the telly and seen it a few times now. Barnaby say's to his sidekick 'we don't do bee's' and the reply is we do now.

I recorded the Midsomer Murders and watched it last night. I have never seen so much 'codswallop' in my life. SWMBO now believes I am making a secret fortune from beekeeping and knows I am lying when I tell her stings are good for her health!
On the plus side I can now dissappear for whole nights claiming I am on swarm watch!
I agree with other forum members who say that this series has 'run its course' and should be buried on Britbox.

was it ever not the case? having had to sit through many episodes (I think SWMBO uses it as 'white noise' when we are sharing a weekend takeaway, or just relaxing the brain) I thought it was always meant to be written with tongue firmly stuffed in cheek, just one up from an episode of 'murder she wrote' or Scooby Doo, written to a set formula and always with a nailbiteing but happy ending.

That's applicable to some other ancient offerings like the dreaded 'Dads army'.
