This is probably an FAQ....does it happen a lot that the paint rubs off? Today's brief inspection (which I'm not sure I'm brave enough to show on video. 
) included a sighting of the queen.....at least I think it was She as she's quite nosey and usually makes a point of being seen and adored. The last time I saw her, which was about three weeks ago, she had an obvious green dot, today not a trace. There's never been a QE and she's a big Buckie. Brood increase from nuc arrival in early June until recently had been a bit slow but has gone up markedly of late late and I had put this down to the colony getting established. Do you get any external indicators of supercedure as it progresses?
