Any idea where I can buy a single treatment of the above - most places seem to sell them in bulk or postage costs almost as much as the strip?

Try a local bee-equipment supplier, your Association or local T's rep.

A single hive treatment is actually TWO strips sealed into one plastic bag.

As such, its not protected for posting -- so you are looking for a face-to-face sale.
Expect to pay about £6 for one hive treatment.

Lucky you. No balsam round here as I think the LA had a blitz on it last year. It is a notifiable weed pest like Jap Knotweed of course.
