Have you thought of restricting the entrance with a strip of omf mesh? You can have a small gap to admit bees and the rest of the strip will admit air for ventilation but not wasps.

Great idea! Thanks, I will get cutting me some entrance sized strips tomorrow!
 
I'll look in on Thursday and report what I see inside.

Well.....not what I expected.
1.One queen spotted laying but not many eggs seen, let's hope she gets going.
2.Little capped brood,no eggs, queen not seen,big capped supercedure cell.
3.Eggs seen
4.No eggs. Vain look for new queen to mark.

I was hoping to have stopped brood box inspections. Will look in next week.
