Did anyone else go?

I got there about 08:40 and it was already mental! :hairpull:

The queue went right around the inside of the marquee which made finding the bits I wanted.. interesting.:boxing_smiley:

So after just 40 minutes they were already running out of some kit, Poly especially, I grabbed a few bundles of frames and added them to the pile, when I got to paying I had seconds thoughts (pun intended) and went to get more SN1's but they had already gone! a full pallet gone in an hour!:ohthedrama:

Considering it didn't finish until 13:00 I wonder if anyone made the trip only to be disappointed?:svengo:

It’s a pity they won’t sell the new, thicker poly nuc lids as separate items. I did enquire, but apparently they’re not selling them until all the old ones have gone.

I ordered bits on Sat. Money long gone from my account. No email confirmation, no reply to email inquiry. Also not impressed 🤬

Ordered frames (in-stock) from them weeks ago and still waiting, zero replies to emails..not impressed.

I've only had an issue once when ordering on line from them, to be fair I rarely order on line and prefer to pick up, however, it was a case of being desperate for foundation so I placed the order on line.
I waited days for it to arrive and couldn't understand what eh delay was, I emailed with no reply so rang them the next day, after confusing me with some guy up north he found the order and dispatched it the same day so I had it within two days of calling.
there's obviously a few issues with their system so I'd advise calling them rather than emailing and might be worth chasing up after a couple of days.

Yes I have been told the same, what I would say about the new lids is that you have to use a polycarb sheet/crown board if not feeding fondant or you'll end up with lots of wild comb built above the frames! not something they sell as part of the 'kit' and has to be bought/sources separately, its a fairly big empty space and we all know what bees will do with that!

Thanks, it seems they are coming today and agree their IT might be poor.

Not a big deal but two weeks v 2 days for the same kit from another place in Scotland (because I needed it that weekend) was disappointing.

Called them today and spoke to a nice lady. She said they’re running ~1.5 week behind on dispatching orders and my order should be dispatched today.
Just FYI for all those waiting.

I just buy their stuff from another site now, the delays were too much (2 weeks plus), especially with no indication on their site or email that any delay is to be expected.

I don't know if i'm being unnecessarily grumpy about them, but as its a seasonal pastime how can they be so under-stocked, and low on man-power? Most other companies use winter time to plan ahead and get ready for the rush.

It’s poor CRM really. As a minimum, today’s customers expect to be able to check the status of their order online - and track it’s delivery to their door. A record of past orders/order again facility is highly desirable. It’s not rocket science...

I don't understand why you're all complaining about delays.. pretty much all suppliers at the moment have a 2 to 3 week back log because of the volume of orders due to the time of year.. it's peak season for gods sake!.
I've never had issues with Maisemore, even ordering online. I ran out of foundation 2 weeks ago, and placed my order knowing it was likely to be subject to delay. Assuming my son could get out of bed to open the door it should be waiting for me when I get home.

well, you say that but I noticed when I was wondering where my stuff was that on their website it does say below all the guff about delivery...

Whilst every effort is made to despatch all orders immediately, please allow 28 days for delivery.

When I read that I couldn't believe it! as you say, it is seasonal and you'd expect it to get busy in the Summer months

Ordered from 3 separate suppliers (including livestock) and all delivered in 2 days, also had a pallet from Denmark with a 5 day turnaround.

Issue was not delays, it's more the failure to respond to emails (x4).

We all know that bees won't wait for us!

We all know that it's going to be busy so we should plan ahead. That's why there are winter sales to encourage us to buy when there is time to do so.

Lesson learned this year, I will spend winter buying up spare hives and accessories...I bet you I still get caught out next year !

Guaranteed! I made up a load of frames, Supers, hives and bought ten Nucs in the February poly sale, I started the season with 4 spare full hives and about 16 Nucs, it wasn't enough! :)

I know it's good to plan ahead but for people new to bee keeping it always strikes me as strange companies with decades of bee keeping knowledge sell out of common items at this time of year. Many places seem to have sold out of supers for several weeks and even frame nails are hard to find.
