I need to replace my plastic settling tank. The tap would not stop leaking when I was jarring up honey the other day. I can either buy another plastic tap or invest in something more robust. I don't need anything massive, 25-30lbs is ample. Most stainless tanks are too big for me, but Abelo sell a Lyson 30L one. Does anyone have any experience of how good the tap is?

Modern Beekeeping do something similar by Logar.

Thanks

Have a look at Old Castle farm - Ian showed me the one they had started selling last spring and it looked pretty good, and were cheaper than all the others.
Investigate on getting a double strainer to go with them as well
I have a couple of Carl Fritz ones that are the dogs'

Fritz tanks and taps are, as JBM notes, quality and they do a small 32l settling tank. Reassuringly expensive too.

I have some Lyson/Abelo equipment and the taps are better than Lega but not as good as the Fritz.

Thank you for the suggestions. 25th wedding anniversary coming up, so my husband has offered to buy me one.

Not quite. GG were expecting to receive taps from France in a December delivery, but for some reason Thomas didn't include them. Angharad has promised to email me when they arrive.

Yes, I was hoping to get one from that delivery, but decided I couldn't wait when I bought a new settling tank from them in November. Just as well I didn't bother waiting :D

The Thomas tank is beautifully made but the tap that comes with it is the worst I've ever used! Doesn't lock easily, opens slightly when you try, and with one washer I couldn't get it to sit in the right position to use, so had to put on two.
