Was told about a swarm this morning around 10am, i get there in 10 mins as it's only up the road and in a nice easy spot about 3 feet high in a bush, i didn't have any equipment on me so of i trot of to get my stuff and was back within 20 mins.
Took the short video placed the nuc box underneath them, lit the smoker, suited up, just in time for them to take to the air and land on the side of the house about 20 foot away and 20-30 foot high, to high for me to collect.
They now look as though they are making there new home in the cavity wall, i have left a nuc box at the base of the wall in hope.
I called at the property to let them know but no one was in.
I could here jim bowen saying " just look at what you could have won".

I have just finished reading "The buzz about Bees" by Jurgen Tautz and he comments on the swarm cluster:-

When it first forms the bees are calm and still but when the scouts return they start to do the waggle dance on the surface of the cluster, a new home is selected and off they go. So calm = time to spare: waggling = get a move on.

Your first video Chalkie shows a lot of waggling going on and as you discovered they were soon away:mad:

I want to confirm this observation but haven't seen a swarm cluster this season:cool:
