What's the difference between kid, mordant, goat and cowhide leather.

Leather is good for chaps...so I am told.
Which is why they are thrown in free. When I started beekeeping I had a cracking pair of soft thin leather gloves and had a free pair with a bee suit last year that are like foundry gloves so I need to buy a couple of new pairs and was comparing the market for a similar pair, looks like they were kid leather.
I Can't find a cheapish pair of kid leather gloves but found these on flee bay

Really should put them on ebay and buy something sensible with the money.
