I made a trip today to the farmers market on the chance of finding some local honey to bring back home. Boy did I find some!
There were five different stalls all selling honey, pollen, wax and even frame foundation!
I found a stall I liked and bought some orange blossom, eucalyptus and rosemary honey. I would have bought more but the OH was tutting!
I had a good old chat with the lady vendor (I'm fluent in Portuguese having lived over here previously for 10 years) her husband has 700 hives around the Algarve, but this year has been a bad year for honey in Portugal! Why?
The lack of rain!
I chuckled and explained it was the opposite in the uk.
I didn't take my camera or I would have put some pics of the stalls up but here's a pic of the honey. All for 14 euros!
