Some retailers say no to the deal but interestingly the successful ones nearly always say yes.

They are very successful businesses which benefit from the deal. They actively promote the fact that they are supporting the bees.

Think fair trade. Think charity giving.

Tesco raised £10 million for charity in the last 16 months.

Some retailers want to show a caring side to help their image. Some genuinely care about bees. I'm not in it for the money, I'm about £3,000 down when I look at income and expenditure.

I'm guessing you weren't very successful in retail

I'm Guessing you will never no as you don't know me and making comments like that shows how daft you are. Shame your not a man and didn't leave the rubbish in about me not being good in retail. Be a man and put it back.

maybe you should ask Tesco to do it for you they will say no. Tesco raised nothing the customers had to pay the money as its a tax on carrier bags.

Quoting Tesco as a good company shows how little you know about retail and how they treat their suppliers.

you will now be going on my blocked list as I don't want to see the rubbish you post.

lol - I just don't get why people on this forum are so tetchy. I would have thought small scale be beekeepers like me (4 hives) would be interested in a marketing strategy that had retailers on side and willing to forego their cut.

The point about Tesco is that even companies who are not known for treating their suppliers well understand the value of being perceived to want to do good.

I hope you know more about bees than you do about marketing.

Enough arguing from me. Sorry to hijack the thread. Last thing I want is to sound like old grumpy quoted above.
