At the end of August we took off the supers and spun the honey and it was a light to medium colour and was fairly transparent - jar on the right..
A couple of weeks later we were setting the hives up for winter and in order to reduce one hive to brood and a half, we took away an almost full super of capped honey.
However, this honey was very different to the earlier crop, it was really difficult to spin out, it was really 'gloopy' and is not at all transparent. It is not 'set' honey, it will flow, but it is very thick and flows slowly.
Is this likely to honey from ivy nectar, and if not what might it be?
Thanks
