Is this a giant Asian Hornet?

Caught from my chimney flu this morning in Cheshire.

No yellow legs, and too much yellow on the abdomen. I'm sure someone will identify it for you shortly.

Looks like a native European hornet.

Thank you for the replies.

I have let it go but unfortunately the very edge of one of its wings must have got singed before I caught it so it can’t fly properly and will probably succumb to the cold tonight.

and Giant Asian hornets aren't the ones that are causing all the worries anyway - just the ordinary Asian ones
