Actually it's always worth checking the price of anything before you hit the buy it now button on eBay.
My wife knows a lady who makes her living from doing just that, you buy it and as soon as you have, she goes out to the shops and buys it and sends it to you.

A week ago Lidl selling microscope and kit for £39-99 now selling on ebay for £99-99+ £12-00 p+p What a cheek

I was about to buy one of these to check bees and I was advised by a few forum members that they are a toy and would be better off with a good secondhand microscope, there are plenty of Russian one's on the market that still do a great job for not much more than £40.00

eBay item number:321269406324

I'll stick with my nice Lidl one, thanks! (Bresser Biolux NV)

// Although, if you tell people you got the Bresser for £75 from Amazon, it might get you a bit more kudos.

/// And many of Lidl's best offerings sell out within hours (sometimes minutes), and invariably show up on eBay...

There was a chap on ebay who after was ordering stuff off amazon when people bought it off him.

Oh come on next you will say you have never sold something on for more than you paid for it.

Nope, don't think I ever have!
Its the principle...hover around Lidl, buy up the stock then sell it on Fleabay....

If people are happy to buy it then go for it.
do you give your honey away and nucs of bees

No, but then I don't hover around other people's apiaries waiting to grab their swarms either....
I get your point Craig.

They bought the items then sold them on not grabbed them off someone big difference lol

Actually, I would give swarms away if I felt the recipient deserved it

And that definitely wouldn't include Lidl/Ebay brokers lol

I don't disagree Hivemaker, but some folk would have loved to have had a bargain microscope from Lidl, but now they have to pay more on fleabay because some scrote bought them all up to make a profit instead of getting a proper job, contributing something to society. Bet you anything they wont be paying tax or NI on the profit, and probably fiddling benefits too

Shops do it, but they pay tax, business rates etc etc

Yes there is a lot of it going on, on e bay, even with beehives after the sales.

It would be a good idea to limit sale items to one a person so every one will get a bargin, I don't like the smash and grab method and refuse to take part in the uncivillised antics. I once bought and sold on ebay for massive profits and did feel guilty but some people seem to have more money than sense. As for beekeeping I do tend to give rather than sell unwanted bits and bobs to people starting out or who will have a use for it.

Funnily enough I was in the Tesco TV dept yesterday getting an HDMI lead when it started to kick off because some chap was trying to buy 4 tablets (some kind of tv?) and the section manager was saying he could only buy 3 as it's the store policy.
