How is the Rape looking

Just seen a farmer and rape is a total washout for him. One small patch for me apparently. Quite a few stocks just sitting there and not doing much at all. Fields still waterlogged, flooding at the drop of a hat. Could be an interesting season.
 
It was much the same as this in 76, and see what happened then.
 
Someone I know fairly local to you (on Oxford clay) has already decided to fallow a very large proportion of his arable. Just no chance to get cultivations done in the autumn and deemed a waste of effort, time and money to even attempt spring sowings
 
This time last year it was in flower !
This year I will have to take them elsewhere as my usual place was unable to sow any crop at all due to waterlogged ground !
The plants are short and showing little sign of coming with the cold West wind. We need some rain and warm weather !!!
