Captured a swarm and housed it into a hive on 12th May. Not had a chance to inspect until today because of cold weather.

Bee active in long awaited sun and bringing in pollen. Inspected this evening and they seem active drawing out new frames and producing a lot of store across approximately 6 frames.

However, no sign of queen - no lavra, no sign of starting to produce a queen cell.

Could I have a virgin queen with the swarm that I couldn't see and do I just need to be patient?

Yes, probably a virgin queen from a cast swarm and could take a few weeks for her to mate and start laying
