Hot wire uncapping

Has anyone ever tried using a hot wire cutter for uncapping by any chance? Does it work and where did you get your cutter? I'm thinking of alternatives to the usual knife.

Some give a quick flash over with an hair dryer or hot air(paint stripper) gun iirc?
